THE DESIGN PROCESS

Initial Consultation..

Initial consultation is usually made by submitting one of our online estimate forms, but if you feel this is a bit daunting please feel free to drop us an e-mail outlining your projects requirements. An estimate is based on the information that you give us at that time, if after further communication and a better understanding of your project this may change.

Once we have a sound understanding of what you want from your site we can then we put together a proposal, outlining the number of pages needed and their purpose, along with any graphic work that is requested. We are then in a position to give you a quote based on the proposed work. Once you except this quote we require a deposit of 50%. We are then ready to start planning.

It is a good idea at this point if you do not have a domain name and webspace to purchase them. Although we can buy domain names and webspace on your behalf, we are not responsible for the performance of the hosting company's server. We can however make recommendations on suitable hosting companies based on our experience. All our fixed rate packages come with third party hosting and a .co.uk domain name. First Stage ...

At the beginning of the development stage of your site you will be given a user name & password to login into our client area where information is made available to you on the progress of the site. The first stage involves showing you a mock layout of how we envisage your site to look. This will be accessible via a link in the client area. If you do not like what you see then we make modifications until you are. If you are happy with the look and feel of the mock up we progress to stage 2.

At this point we will also require any text, graphics, price lists, articles etc, that you would like on your site. We now build your sites first page with navigation & graphics and also a secondary page for your approval as well as any graphics that you have asked for. If at any point there is something you don't like, tell us and we can change it. If you are happy with these pages, we then move on to constructing the whole site inserting your text and graphics, this is when the site really starts to take shape.

The final stage is testing your site for dead links, spelling & grammar mistakes. Tweaking graphics and generally getting it ready to go live. When you are 100% happy with it then we can go live with it.

On payment of the balance we will upload and install your site to the web space of your choice and transfer copyright of the site to you, at this point it will be re-tested to make sure it is working correctly.
If required we can supply you with a backup of your site on CD Rom, or a zipped copy can be e-mailed to you. Please note once you have accepted and paid for your site, it is your responsibility. We do, however, offer several maintenance and updating packages as well as an ad-hoc service.
